The University is situated on the lower slopes of Devil's Peak, overlooking the sweep of the Cape Flats and the distant Hottentots Holland mountains. Just off a main suburban highway, the University is within easy reach of Cape Town's city centre and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, as well as the popular beaches of False Bay. The exciting Baxter theatre and concert hall complex forms part of the UCT campus. The busy village of Rondebosch, on the main southern suburbs bus and train routes, offers a variety of shops, pubs and other amenities. Conference delegates may use certain of UCT's sports facilities such as squash courts and swimming pool and the University Libraries.
